PROGRAM POLICIES

Process-Driven Policy

At YHO, we are driven to shape the character, confidence, and competence of the athletes we serve by
creating a positive and challenging environment focused on teaching, coaching, and learning instead of
the trophy chasing, win-at-all-costs attitude so common to youth basketball. Our value system for player
development and our emphasis on leadership guides everything we do.

Non-Discrimination Policy

YHO is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all ages and stages. We do not discriminate
based on race, color, religion, gender, age, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or marital status.
This commitment extends to all aspects of our operations, including player selection, staff, and
community partnerships.

Privacy Policy

We value your privacy and want you to understand how we handle your information. Our privacy policy
restricts the sale, distribution, or misuse of the personal data we collect for the safety and protection of
your personal information.

Payment Policy

We offer a monthly payment option for each of our programs. You can choose to pay for the entire
session upfront or set up installment payments. The first installment is due at registration. All recurring
payments or returning acceptance offers are automatically processed (EFT) through a secure and
encrypted online platform. Please note that cash and checks are not accepted.

Refund Policy

Once a player has accepted an offer, registered to a team, and completed their initial payment, our
policy is generally no refunds. Exceptions may be considered for long-term injuries or illnesses, as
outlined in our Policies and Procedures Handbook. Terms and conditions apply.

Injury Policy

If a player is injured early or mid-session and is unavailable to participate for 6 weeks or more, they may
provide a doctor’s note to freeze any future payments until they are able to return. However, refunds
for past installments will not be issued.

Grievance Policy

We ask that all grievances be addressed after allowing a period of 48 hours for initial feelings to subside.
This helps to alleviate any emotional outbursts, prevents misunderstandings, and ensures that a more
productive and rational discussion with the coaches and/or director can take place when cooler heads
can prevail.

Code of Conduct

Players, parents, and staff are expected to represent the YHO program positively, keeping aligned with
our program culture, core values, and maintaining the focus to build the character, confidence, and
competence of our players at the forefront. Winning games and championships are a primary goal but
come secondary to fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment. For valuable tips on how
to be more supportive for your child and coaches, check out these parent resources from our partners at
Positive Coaching Alliance and the Jr. NBA.
